Sawing systems
Osenstätter

During the last years, our block band saws have been mainly used in sawmills due to their stability and their operating safety. However, they do not want only block band saws, but full Wimmer saw units with mechanization and many special wishes. We are the right partner for sawmills in the area of special wishes at a reasonable price. One of these units that we have constructed and produced specifically following customer wishes is located in Schongau in the facilities of the company Osenstätter.

Specifications of the customer:

Cutting length up to 14 mtr., cut material brushed on both sides, cut material sorting left-right-back

Board thicknesses of 7mm to 80mm, quality evaluation of the log after every cut, full automatics, operation by one person who must perform the following tasks.

1.       Operation of the Wimmer-saw and during the sawing process

2.       Quality evaluation

3.       Abnahme der Schnittware

3.       Removal of the cut material

4.       Sorting by quality

5.       Gripping of every single board (Lamellae)

Short function description:

After the log was aligned, the block band saw is set to fully automatic operation. The Wimmer saw head drives to the operator and slips into a brush aggregate on the way back, which is set to saw blade height and board thickness via the SPS control. The feed speed of the brush aggregate is slightly higher than that of the Wimmer saw head. Thus, the brush aggregate takes over the transport of the cut material and the Wimmer saw head is no longer stressed. Subsequently, the cut material is transported onto a roller. It is positioned at the right height by the SPS control. This roller automatically lowers itself in the basic frame and the cut material is transported further in the prescribed direction. (left, right, back) Due to two additional operating units the operator is able to determine the thickness of the board depending on the quality of the log or at the end of the roller and thus saves many ways. This way the operator has time to measure each single board (mainly lamellae) and enter the data into his EDP. Mr. Osenstätter is therefore able to determine the yield of every single log.
