Saw blade care

What good is the best log band saw if the tool is not in a good condition? Especially with the log band saw, it is very important that the saw blades fit in all respects, so that optimum performance is achieved and the saw blade has a long service life.
This saves real money.
Our tip
Your best man belongs in the sharpening room

In 2006, we took over the mechanical engineering department from the company Alber. Since then, these devices have been produced by us. In cooperation with our customers, they are being constantly improved.

Sharpening

It is of course necessary for the professional sawyer to have his own Zenz sharpener. We can offer you a Zenz dry grinding sharpener and a Zenz wet grinder. Unfortunately, only the price is very often taken into consideration when making a purchase. Absolute precision is required with the sharpener, so that the surface pattern is ideal. Experienced sawyers know that a great deal can break here if you use a cheap sharpener.
The result: The performance of the band saw is poor and the saw blades have a short service life. And very soon the price advantage of the cheaper sharpener is lost and it becomes a real cost factor.

Rollers

For an optimum cutting quality and a long service life of the saw blade, it is absolutely necessary that the tension in the saw blade is tested repeatedly and, if necessary, rerolled. Unfortunately, this need is not considered and the band saws often have a reputation of not cutting precisely. The tension is tested for all saw bands that we receive for sharpening. Since the saw blades run stress-free due to the design of our log band saw, it is possible to re-stellite the saw blades several times. This of course considerably reduces the on-going blade costs.

Rolling bench PLZ 190

Planned bench of 1.90 metres 2 sanders
With anvil 250 x 140 x 70 mm
Precision rolling machines
Can be shifted transversely to the planned bench
With means for rolling blade torsions
Speed of about 9 metres / min

Setting

Now almost everything is cut with Stellite bands. To cut logs with many foreign bodies, however, the crosswise saw blade is always good. You can also align the teeth with our Zenz crosswise device. This allows you a score-free and optimum cross section.
